The Office of Enrollment Services at Hardin-Simmons University is designed to help you meet the costs of today's
higher education. Working together with you, we will explore all the various options - payment plans, scholarships,
grants, work programs, and loans. We will use a system called "packaging" to put together the best program
of financial assistance for you. Combined with what you and your family can provide, this assistance should make
your college career a wise and affordable investment. Although the application process may seem confusing at times,
financial aid is actually based on only two questions:
•How much should you and your family be expected to provide?
•For what financial aid programs can you qualify?
As you complete the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you are providing
information which, when put into a federally mandated formula, provides the answers to these two questions.
Once the "expected
family contribution" is determined through the federal formula, we begin to package your financial aid
from the various programs for which you are eligible, in order to fill the gap, if any, between this expected
family contribution and the cost of attendance.
The average direct cost for one semester for a full-time undergraduate, on-campus student ranges from $10,000
to $12,000. Your HSU tuition will not be increased while you are enrolled full-time during consecutive fall/spring
semesters and are making satisfactory progress toward a degree.** Depending on your eligibility and financial
need, we may draw from one or more financial aid programs.
